Prince William and Kate Middleton share family photo with George, Charlotte and Louis for Mother’s Day

The royal family has celebrated their first Mother’s Day away from the Queen with a series of heartwarming social media posts.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared sweet new family photos of Kate, who spent quality time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in celebration of Mother’s Day.

The royal couple took to their Instagram account this morning to share two pictures of Kate with her children at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk last year.

The first portrait – taken by photographer Matt Porteous – shows the Princess of Wales and her three children sitting in a tree.

The Princess of Wales is dressed casually in a white blouse, jeans and white trainers and has her hair styled in her signature loose waves.

Meanwhile, her two sons wore blue shorts and short-sleeved shirts for the photoshoot, while Charlotte donned a denim jumpsuit with red tassels.

The second picture shows Kate lovingly cradling her youngest son Prince Louis, four, in her arms.

As she beams at him, Louis is seen adoringly holding his mother’s hand.

The couple captioned the post: “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours.”

The newly released pictures were taken on the same day as her Christmas card from last year.

For this family shoot, Kate and William turned to their favorite and most trusted photographer, Matt Porteous.

The environmental photographer previously captured the image they used for their 2021 Christmas card as well as portraits for Prince George’s third birthday.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ post has already garnered 90,000 likes and fans have raved about the cute pictures.

“Such beautiful photos,” said a third. “Wishing the Princess of Wales a very happy Mother’s Day.”

Earlier today, King Charles celebrated the first Mother’s Day without the Queen by sharing a poignant childhood photo with his “beloved mama”.

The Monarch, 74, and Queen Consort Camilla, 75, took to their Instagram account this morning to show their support for others who have lost parents.

Wearing a white-collared dress, the blonde monarch beamed at the camera while squeezing his mother’s hand in the undated picture.

Meanwhile, the Queen – who was then Princess Elizabeth – looked radiant in a fitted gray gown and pearl necklace.

Smiling into the distance, Her Majesty – who was just 22 when she conceived King Charles – had her brown hair styled in her signature curls and wore bright orange lipstick.

Today is King Charles’ first ever Mother’s Sunday without his ‘beloved mother’, who died last September at the age of 96.

In the poignant post, Queen Consort Camilla also shared a heartwarming photo with her late mother, Rosalind Shand, who sadly passed away in 1994.

The image – which comes from Camilla’s private family collection – shows the Queen in a bright red jacket and gold necklace while beaming alongside her late mother.

Rosalind – the daughter of Roland Cubitt, third Baron Ashcombe – also looked glamorous in a polka dot blouse, bird-shaped brooch and pearl earrings.

Charles and Camilla captioned the post, “To all moms everywhere and to those who are missing their moms today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special Mother’s Day.”

The post has garnered over 240,000 “likes” since it was uploaded in the wee hours of this morning – and royal fans showed their support in the comments.

Additionally, Sarah Ferguson paid tribute to her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice in a gushing Mother’s Day post.

The Duchess of York, 63, affectionately referred to Princess Beatrice, 34, and Princess Eugenie, 32, as their “sunshine” on Instagram.

The proud mum shared a souvenir photo of her daughters arriving in Windsor for the 80th birthday celebrations of her late grandfather Prince Philip in 2001.

She wrote: “I am so proud of my girls and the beautiful women and mothers they have grown to be. I feel very blessed to call her mine.

“My darlings, you are my sunshine forever and ever. #happy Mother’s Day.’
