Princess Eugenie is starting a new series of her Ocean Advocate podcast

Princess Eugenie today launches the second season of her miniseries about protecting the oceans, just days after the birth of her son Ernest.

The King’s niece, 33, and her husband Jack Brooksbank announced the birth of their second son, named Ernest George Ronnie, on Monday.

But Princess Eugenie got straight back to work as she confirmed last night that the second season of Ocean Advocate will be released in time for World Oceans Day on Friday.

In a short clip, the Queen gives a first look at some of her upcoming guests on the series, including Zandile Ndhlovu, the founder of the Black Mermaid Foundation.

She will also be in conversation with Brigitta Gunawan, who is behind the 30 x 30 Indonesia project. The aim is to help protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030.

Princess Eugenie announced the second series, saying: “To celebrate World Oceans Day, tomorrow I am launching the second series of Ocean Advocate!”

“Stay tuned for episode one.”

The miniseries’ first season premiered on June 9, 2022, and she welcomed guests throughout the summer, including her “dear friend” and singer Ellie Goulding.

The mother-of-two said she wanted to hear from experts on why we “should protect the ocean and how important it is that we do so”.

She also promised that the Ocean Advocate series would feature voices from “some incredible people who have worked to protect the ocean and its lives for many, many years.”

Eugenie is characterized by her environmentally conscious actions and has been an ambassador for the Blue Marine Foundation for two years.

In April, she revealed that through the mother of her two-year-old eldest son, August, she inspired Brooksbank to do more for the environment.

She said: “Priorities change when you have children; You want to do everything for them – and for your grandchildren.

“August is only two, but I hope that what I’m doing will get through to him and that one day he’ll embrace it.”

Princess Eugenie is an avid environmental activist and even had a plastic-free wedding to husband Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

The king kept Ernest’s birth a secret for about a week before announcing his arrival to the public on Monday.

His name is a tribute to his late grandfather, Jack’s father George, who died in 2021 at the age of 72, and Fergie’s father Major Ronald Ferguson.

Eugenie also said his name was a tribute to his great-great-great-grandfather George V, whose middle name was also Ernest.
