Queen Consort Camilla’s niece Ayesha Shand shares a snap of her ‘great match’ Luigi Ambrosi

The Queen Consort’s niece, Ayesha Shand, is believed to be dating a businessman, with a friend calling the couple a “great match”.

Ayesha, 28, shared a picture of herself and her alleged partner Luigi Ambrosi on social media.

The image, which shows the couple watching the New Year while on vacation in Uruguay, is captioned simply with an emoji of a heart followed by “2023”.

According to a friend of the couple, Ayesha and Luigi – who works for his Italian family’s dairy business in America – “are a great match”.

The 28-year-old is the daughter of Mark Shand, the late brother of 75-year-old Camilla, who died in 2014 at the age of 62. Her mother is his ex-wife Clio Goldsmith.

According to Ayesha, her royal aunt helped her cope with the loss of her father, previously saying, “She was amazing at being there for me and preserving my father’s legacy.”

Camilla and her husband King Charles, 74, became joint presidents of Mark’s charity Elephant Family after his death in 2014 in an accident.

The charity’s goal is to preserve the Indian elephant by helping them live in harmony with India’s rapidly growing population and by opening “elephant corridors” through which the animals can move without disturbing the villagers.

Ayesha, who works alongside Princess Eugenie at the Hauser & Wirth art gallery in Mayfair, said in 2021: “[Camilla] is amazing – she is so committed to the charity.

“She has been incredible in being there for me, not just personally, but in preserving my father’s legacy and being there for him.

“I couldn’t be more grateful. It helps in the grieving process. All of these things keep his memory alive, which is so important.”

Speaking about her brother’s death in an article for The Times, Camilla recalled the moment she picked up the phone: “A tortured voice on the other end told me something terrible had happened to my resilient brother.

“My charismatic and sometimes annoying brother, who had survived tsunamis, shipwrecks, poisoned arrows and even the terrifying Komodo dragons, was no longer with us.”

At the time, Camilla was said to have been “devastated” by the news as she was very close to her only brother.

A statement released by Clarence House on Mark’s death said: “It is with deep sadness that we confirm that the Duchess of Cornwall’s brother Mark Shand passed away today.

“Mr Shand died in hospital as a result of a serious head injury sustained in a fall last night. The Duchess, the Prince of Wales and all their family members are deeply saddened by this sudden and tragic loss.

“Mark Shand was a man of exceptional vitality, a tireless activist and conservationist whose incredible work for the elephant family and beyond was the focus until his death.”
