Queensland skydivers fall to the ground after parachute fails to deploy

Two skydivers were caught on video falling helplessly to the ground after their parachute failed to deploy.

Dramatic footage shows their half-open slide flapping in mid-air as the couple tumble towards the sand in Currimundi on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on Tuesday.

Beachgoers watched in horror, assuming the tandem jumpers would be killed.

But the duo miraculously walked away after deploying their reserve chute closer to the ground.

‘What’s up?’ A man can be heard in the video.

“It doesn’t look good,” replies another man.

“Shall we run to the beach?” asks the first man.

“I think we should,” says the other man.

The duo began running to the beach in a desperate attempt to help the skydivers.

The tandem jumpers eventually landed on the soft sand and walked away from the horrific ordeal.

Her first parachute fell into the sea and was later collected by local lifeguards.

Another said: “Oh that’s exactly why I can’t bring myself to do it!”

“Maybe my idea of ​​going back might have changed a bit,” commented a third.

In tandem skydiving, two people are strapped together during their skydive. At least one of the jumpers is a certified instructor.
