Real Housewives star who had affair with Prince Harry says ‘he needed an older woman’

An interior designer and former Real Housewives star, who says she had an “affair” with Prince Harry when he was 21, says he “needed an older” woman, “but doesn’t know what he found in Meghan” .

Catherine Ommanney, 51, was 34 when she started dating the prince in 2006 and said she was “sad for him and the royal family” following his bombshell autobiography and string of media appearances.

She told Good Morning Britain: “We met at a dinner party and we had mutual friends in Australia who we stayed with – that’s how we struck up a conversation. He was surrounded by 20-year-olds. I listened to him a lot and I think that’s what he needed.

“I will not slander Meghan because I think she did a good job herself. I don’t know what he found in Meghan… I’m really sad for him, I’m sad for the entire royal family because I don’t think he’s going to recover from this anytime soon.

Miss Ommanney, best known for appearing in Real Housewives of DC, has denied being the woman Harry lost his virginity to.

In his book Spare, Harry revealed that in 2001, aged 17, he lost his virginity to an elderly horse-loving woman behind a busy pub – believed to be the Rattlebone Inn in Wiltshire.

He felt like a “young stud,” he described the moment in the English edition, adding, “Quick ride, then she slapped my butt and sent me to graze.”

Miss Ommanney said Harry was “clearly” an experienced lover when they got together in 2006, adding that she hated horses and was “definitely not the girl in the field”.

Though she never revealed the date of their first meeting, the Real Housewives of DC star claims to have had a two-month romance with the king in 2006.

Miss Ommanney said Harry was “clearly” an experienced lover when they got together, adding that she hated horses and she was “definitely not the girl in the field”.

In an interview with The Sun last November, Miss Ommanney said she met Prince Harry, now 38, at a bar in Chelsea while he was still in a long-term on-off relationship with socialite Chelsy Davy.

She says that after a few drinks together, the couple headed to Eclipse nightclub in South Kensington before heading to one of his friend’s houses.

There, she says, they shared a cigarette on the stairs outside and [Harry] really open to [her]’.

After going back inside, she claims Harry made them all bacon sandwiches, fought with his friends, and gave her a kiss before going home.

Miss Ommanney claims they met a few more times before the romance fizzled out and it wasn’t until 2009, a year after marrying her second husband (whom she is now separated from), that the two met again at a polo match.

Miss Ommanney, who starred on Piers Morgan Uncensored last month, said she “don’t recognize” Harry and insisted he wasn’t the “kind of person” to do a six-part documentary with Netflix when she knew him.

She said of Meghan, 41: “She put a spell on him and that’s why I don’t recognize him because he used to be so down to earth and normal and there’s so little of him that I really recognize.

“He would never have been the kind of person to do that show back then in a million years.”
