Revealed: Katherine Ryan repeatedly accused Russell Brand of being a “sexual predator” during filming of Comedy Central’s Roast Battle before he was fired from his last major TV job in the UK
Katherine Ryan repeatedly accused Russell Brand of being a “sexual predator” while filming his last major TV job in the UK before he was axed from the show.
Brand was a judge on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle in 2018, but was only there for one season after Ryan allegedly roasted him on camera over allegations that he sexually assaulted women – which he vehemently denied.
The comedian was sued by a number of women who accused him of abusive and predatory behavior, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, between 2006 and 2013.
The Metropolitan Police have also confirmed they are currently investigating an alleged sexual assault in Soho in 2013 – three years before the four sexual assaults Brand has already been accused of.
The comedian “completely” denies the allegations and insists all of his relationships have been consensual.

Brand, seen leaving the Troubabour Wembley Park Theater on Saturday, was grilled on camera by Ryan about allegations he sexually abused women
Roast Battle consists of comedians making jokes at each other’s expense. The first season starred Brand, Ryan and Jimmy Carr. Jonathan Ross replaced Brand in the second season.
Ryan reportedly made allegations against Brand while filming the Fulwell 73-created show. As a result, their comments did not make it into the broadcast deadline.
Ryan’s confrontations allegedly revealed how comedians in the industry spoke openly about Brand’s sexual and predatory behavior.
Brand was “absolutely furious” after being attacked by Ryan on the show, a source told the newspaper.
Two other sources claimed that he demanded that producers protect him from being angered by these serious allegations.
Industry insiders have now revealed that they thought it was best that Brand stepped down as a judge on the show and that “in the end it came down to it looking like Russell didn’t have a good sense of humor.”
This show appears to be one of Brand’s last appearances on British television screens, with the exception of the Great British Celebrity Bake Off in the same year.
Katherine Ryan previously claimed to have told a comedian “to his face” that he was a sex offender and that the allegations against that person were an “open secret.”
The Canadian comedian and author told Louis Theroux that she confronted the unnamed man “again and again” while they worked together on a TV show in front of an audience.

Katherine Ryan previously claimed to have told a comedian “to his face” that he was a sex offender and that the allegations against that person were an “open secret.”
In 2022, the 40-year-old said she had no concerns as she had decided to handle it “like a man” – although the confrontation itself was later edited out of the show.
In her conversation with Theroux, Ms Ryan claimed she was subsequently criticized for not publicly naming the person in question, but said that just talking about him was a “contentious minefield” as he was “very good Lawyers”.
The comedian added that it’s “not my story to tell,” but she believes the allegations are “very credible” based on the sources.
In the Dispatches documentary that first revealed the allegations against Brand, comedian Daniel Sloss claimed that Brand’s behavior was known to many and that women were warning each other about him.
He told the show that there were “many stories of varying degrees of severity” about Brand, coming from different people in the comedy scene.
Mr Sloss said he was often talked about in public and many people in the comedy scene were aware of his alleged abusive and compulsive behavior.
He added that female comedians even talked about him in WhatsApp groups to warn each other which comedians to avoid.
He said: “Women have been warning each other about Russell for many, many years.”
Katherine Ryan, Fulwell 73 and a representative for Brand were contacted by MailOnline for comment.
