Ricki-Lee Coulter has spoken about her success after starting her career with Australian Idol in 2004.

The 37-year-old told The Daily Telegraph on Sunday she was “very proud” of herself after almost 20 years in the music industry.

“I’m really proud that I’ve had a career for almost 20 years and had all the crazy, wild, amazing success that I’ve had, but I’ve worked my ass off for it,” she said.

Ricki-Lee continued to talk about her new single On My Own, which will be released on March 31st.

“Whatever I’ve been through in my life, personally or in my career, the ups and downs, I know I’ll always figure it out,” she explained.

“And when I say this song is about my life, and I mean it.”

Ricki-Lee rose to fame after making the top 10 on Australian Idol in 2004.

She placed seventh and the talented performer has been a fixture in the music industry ever since.

Ricki-Lee recently revealed why returning to Australian Idol is so special, 19 years ago after the show launched her.

“This show made all my childhood dreams come true,” Ricki-Lee told 7News.

“When I was a little girl, all I wanted to do was be on stage and perform in front of people, make music that made people feel something.”

Ricki-Lee also hosted last year’s season of Australia’s Got Talent on Seven and was there to comfort contestants backstage.

The Goldkoster native had four #1 hits on the ARIA Dance Chart, ten Top 10 singles on the ARIA Singles Chart, two Top 10 entries on the ARIA Albums Chart and amassed more than 75 million streams .
