Risk of Rain 2 Unlocks: How to Unlock Characters in Risk of Rain 2

Risk of Rain 2 Unlocks five characters for players to use. They are MUL-T, Huntress, Mercenary, Engineer and Artificer. Unlocking these unique characters requires grinding and a bit of luck. Here’s a rundown of how to get each of them.

Risk of Rain 2 Unlocks: MUL-T

MUL-T is a robot with a variety of gadgets. He has two different weapons and is quite agile. To unlock him, you must unlock all “verified” achievements in the game. This requires you to defeat the first mission’s teleporting boss five times in five different games.

Risk of Rain 2 Unlocks: Huntress

All you have to do to unlock the Slayer is the Warrior achievement. You must reach and complete the third teleporter without dying. Make sure you bring plenty of items and you should be fine. Huntress automatically sharpens enemies with her attacks, making her a friendly class for new players.

Risk of Rain 2 Unlocks: Mercenaries

The mighty mercenary is armed with a lazer sword. Getting him requires some luck as you will have to come across a celestial portal that appears randomly. Jump through and park your way to the Obelisk to unlock this class.

Risk of Rain 2 Unlocks: Engineer

The engineer is unlocked after completing 30 areas. This can be done across separate games and doesn’t have to be completed in one life (thank goodness!).

Risk of Rain 2 unlocks: Artificer

Getting the spell-casting Artificer also requires some luck. You have to spawn the moon portal by finding the hidden mysterious blue rock in many stages. Make sure you have at least 11 lunar coins. Give the rock a coin to spawn the blue orb. After taking the teleporter to defeat a boss, DO NOT take the teleporter and instead take the moon portal to reach a bazaar where you can free the Artificer by giving the vendor the remaining 10 coins.
