Roquan Smith “becomes the highest-paid inside linebacker in NFL HISTORY” as he signs a new contract with the Ravens

Roquan Smith and the Ravens have agreed a lucrative new contract ahead of the wildcard round matchup at the Bengals.

According to NFL Network Ian RapportSmith and the Ravens agreed to a five-year, $100 million deal.

The contract includes guarantees totaling US$60 million.

Drafted by the Bears in 2018, Smith played in Chicago but failed to agree on a long-term contract with the franchise.

They traded him to Baltimore in October for a 2023 second-round pick and a fifth-round pick.

Veteran linebacker AJ Klein was also included in the deal.

Smith made his first Pro Bowl call this year and has 169 total tackles

Smith has made a strong impression in Baltimore, losing two sacks and seven tackles in his nine games there.

The latter is the joint third in the team despite his mid-season entry.

Smith, who joined Chicago and Baltimore in 169 tackles that year, also received Pro Bowl honors for the first time.

After last weekend’s 16-27 loss to the Bengals, the Ravens return to Paycor Stadium for the wild card round of the playoffs to face their division rivals.
