Sarah Ferguson says the corgis she adopted from the late Queen are ‘happy’ and overcoming their grief

Sarah Ferguson has revealed the corgis she adopted after Queen Elizabeth’s death are “really happy” and seem to be recovering from their grief.

The Duchess of York, 63, made the comments during an interview with Rylan Clark on his BBC Radio 2 show.

When she appeared on the program to talk about her new novel, A Most Intriguing Lady, the Queen opened up about how her two dogs, Muick and Sandy, were doing.

They moved into the Royal Lodge, the Windsor home she shares with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, following the death of Her Majesty last September.

When asked by Rylan how the dogs were doing, Sarah replied, “They’re great, they’re really happy and their tails have gone up now, so I think they’re over their grief.”

Describing the corgis, who were a gift from Andrew and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie to the Queen after the Duke of Edinburgh’s death, the King said they were “so cute”.

She added: “I think they were coached by her [the Queen] to be so gentle

“If you take a little digestive biscuit and break it like she used to do with her little hands… she must have put a little biccie in front of them, and they take it gently.”

The Duchess was photographed arriving at the London studio wearing a light pink leather-look coat she wore to a festival in Los Angeles last month.

She paired the colorful piece of clothing with a black midi dress and a pair of velvet slippers, which were embellished with a sparkling crown.

The mother-of-two wore her auburn locks loose around her shoulders and completed her look with a pair of glittery earrings and a long necklace.

Her last appearance comes after Sarah appeared on This Morning to promote the novel.

During this interview last Thursday, she praised her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, for their hard work, saying the York family is a “supportive entity”.

After the Duchess publicly expressed her support for Prince Andrew when he was tried on sexual assault allegations, which he has always denied, the Duchess said she will always stand by her ex-husband, as has he always supported her.

She told presenters Holly Willoughby and Joel Dommett that the family “symbolizes no judgement, kindness and progress.”

Talking about the importance of “moving forward as a unit” during difficult times, Fergie slammed social media’s “sewers” as unkind.

Last year the Duke of York, 63, settled out of court with Ms Giuffre for a payment that was not disclosed but was thought to be around £10million.

Speaking of her support for her ex-husband, Fergie said: “It’s Beatrice, Eugenie and I. We are a family unit.

“My girls represent service, they represent having and maintaining very, very tough jobs and they are mothers and they are public figures and they do charity work.

She continued, “They are exceptional examples of princesses in ministry, what their grandmother taught them and what I have taught them with humility.

“So I think the unity of the York family doesn’t symbolize judgment, kindness and progress to get people to sit up and ‘stop’. Stop believing everything you read… move forward as one.

Fergie added: “Remember, I’ve been through difficult times and he’s always stood by me.”
