Sean Strickland has launched an attack on Israel Adesanya as the UFC champion said he felt his opponent “didn’t even try” and asked if he was “fighting amateurs”.

Strickland stunned the MMA world by pulling off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history when he captured Israel Adesanya’s middleweight title via unanimous decision.

All three judges scored it 49-46 for the American, who dropped Adesanya in the first round.

When speaking to the press after the game, Strickland questioned his opponent and the ease of the victory, saying, “I feel like the guy didn’t even try.”

Strickland further discussed his game plan, saying, “The game plan was wrestling.” We wrestled all over camp. But when you’re a little bit autistic, you do what you do!

“I think I am one of the best strikers in the world. “Every time you do the men’s dance, you’re one hit away from being knocked out.”

He further supported himself and revealed that he believes he can beat a world champion boxer.

“I could fight and defeat any world champion boxer,” he said.

“I think I’m one of the best strikers in the world!”

It remains to be seen what happens next for the pair, as UFC president Dana White admitted he would be in favor of a rematch.
