“I think there are many things that Sentinels and I have in common,” Tarik said in his announcement video. “I think they’re very meme-y, which I love and resonates very well with my brand. They’re also blunt about how they see things and they’re saying it like it is, and I’ve been very vocal and critical of a lot of things in the community, so I think it’s going to be really interesting for us together.”
With a community that includes over 2.2 million Twitch followers, 611,000 Twitter followers, and 595,000 YouTube subscribers, Tarik has easily become one of the most prominent North American content creators in the world, not to mention Valorant.
When it comes to Riot Games’ tactical shooter, particularly with its watch parties for Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) events, Tarik’s streams often see view counts that slightly dominate the directory on Twitch.
Aside from simply upgrading his brand and working with a like-minded organization with an interesting Valorant roster, Tarik stressed that Sentinels welcomes any criticism he has as the team progresses.
“The Sentinels organization knows that I will continue to be myself,” Tarik said. “They don’t want me to hide who I am from the community, so I’ll continue to be critical of what I see and how they behave, and maybe it’ll put a little fire under their butts, to push them even further. “
As announced by SentinelsTarik will also apparently travel to Istanbul to stream Valorant Champions 2022 straight from the Grand Finals stage.
“When I saw that it was announced for Istanbul, I was shocked,” said Tarik. “This is huge not only for Valorant but also for the Turkish community. I have roots from there so it gets crazy when I go there and actually get to hang out with all the fans, all the players, all the talent. I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like.”
