Sha’Carri Richardson is kicked off an American Airlines flight after an argument over the use of her phone

American track and field star Sha’Carri Richardson was thrown from the plane on Saturday after an altercation with a flight attendant.

Richardson, 22, shared a video to her Instagram and Story in which she claimed the American Airlines flight attendant, whom she identifies as “John,” disrespected her.

In the clip, Richardson spoke to the camera and claimed the flight attendant “didn’t respect her” while talking on her phone before takeoff.

She explained in her Instagram post that she didn’t like the tone he used when asking her to leave the phone, before claiming he then stood over her and demanded to look at the phone to check if it’s in airplane mode.

“Before the video, this gentleman asked me to end a cell phone call, I did,” her caption read.

“I told him I didn’t like the tone he used towards me. After that, while he stood in front of me and did the safety protocols, he leaned forward further to look at my phone. He asked to see that my phones were more on the plane at this point. He demanded that I show him. What I did before him.’

The video showed her speaking to the camera and saying she was on “holiday time” before the companion came into the picture.

“I’m recording myself, but you jumped into my video, so I caught you for jumping into my video,” Richardson told the flight attendant. “You’re bothering me at this point, so I think you should stop. I think you should stop.”

Other passengers were then heard telling her to stop arguing with the attendant and getting angry.

Richardson got into a heated argument with a female passenger and told her to stop yelling at her.

“Are you all seeing him correctly? you see him right? you see him right? I’m sorry, it’s not me,” Richardson replied.

‘Talk to him. No, ma’am. Don’t talk to me like that. I am an adult Do not talk to me like that. Do not talk to me like that. Tell him to stop. If you don’t know what’s going on, don’t yell at me.’

Richardson was then escorted off the plane for applause as she continued to exchange shouts with passengers and flight attendants.

“Tell me is it wrong to take legal action against @americanair airline. The man not only threatened me, but also an innocent bystander who just wanted a picture with me. At the beginning of the video you can hear a Caucasian man saying that as a man he doesn’t mind a male flight attendant intimidating a woman,” Richardson later wrote.

“Even the captain does nothing to help the situation and that flight attendant has the applause as I got off the plane as I was pretty serious. The disrespect I received would not have happened if I had been one of them.”

It’s not the first time Richardson has made controversial headlines after testing positive for marijuana in 2021.

She failed a drug test and was subsequently handed a 30-day ban, barring her from the 100m at the Tokyo Games.

She later said she only used marijuana to cope with the death of her birth mother before the Oregon Olympic Trials.

She explained that she learned of her birth mother’s death through a reporter’s question during an interview before she established herself as a gold medal contender by winning the 100-meter at the US Olympic Trials on June 19 in Eugene, Oregon -Run won in 10.86 seconds.

Afterwards, Richardson said she used marijuana in an “emotional panic,” which led to the failed drug test revealed after her 100-meter win.

Marijuana is legal in Oregon, so she didn’t break any laws.
