Shocking moment: Motorcyclist is thrown through the air at Berowra Water after driving head-on into a submarine on a narrow side road
Shocking footage has emerged of a horrific head-on crash on a narrow, winding road that sent a motorcyclist flying.
The horrific collision between the motorcycle and a minibus occurred near Berowra Waters in northern Sydney at around 8.36am on Sunday, October 8.
Dashcam footage taken from a vehicle traveling behind the ute showed the accident on a minor road between Berowra Heights and Berowra Waters.
As the driver of a white Ford Ranger ute approaches a sharp bend leading up a hill, a motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction is suddenly seen emerging from the blind corner.
The ute then suddenly comes to a stop, its brake lights visible on the dashcam footage, while the motorcyclist disappears from view for a moment.
Moments later, the driver is seen flying into the air and landing heavily on the side of the road after the nasty collision.
The driver’s motorcycle also collapsed on the side of the road.
The motorcyclist appeared unresponsive and is lying face down on the road wearing dark clothing and a white helmet.
Two male occupants of the vehicle, including the driver, climb out of the submarine, visibly shaken by the incident.
The couple, along with another woman wearing a dark green top and black pants, rush towards the rider, who remains motionless on the ground.

The driver is believed to have suffered multiple broken bones and a dislocated shoulder.
The male driver checks the motorcyclist’s welfare.
He can then be seen raising his arms in disbelief as the woman approaches the crime scene before the video cuts out.
Footage of the disturbing incident uploaded to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page was flooded with hundreds of comments from users.
“I hope both the driver and rider recover quickly (injury and shock). “Thank God the driver didn’t fall overboard,” one user wrote.
“I hope the driver makes a full recovery,” said another.
‘Ouch!’ wrote a third.
However, others said the motorcyclist needed to be more alert as he approached the curve of the narrow road.

“To me it looks like the biker needs to be more careful, the car got completely stuck on the left side, the bike didn’t get stuck at all…” said one user.
“Cyclists learned their lesson the hard way,” wrote another.
“Old buddy should be thankful he didn’t bounce the other way.”
Daily Mail Australia contacted New South Wales Police for comment.
Berowra Waters is a popular Sydney destination and is close to some of the city’s major waterways, including Pittwater and Hawkesbury River.
