Shocking video shows victims repeatedly stabbed by Libyan migrants in Paris’ Gare du Nord shooting

Shocking video of a brutal stabbing attack by a Libyan migrant on a train passenger yesterday at the main Eurostar Paris-London hub has emerged.

Footage released today showed the moment the attacker, who claims his name is Mohamed Amine but has not been officially identified, pushed a man to the ground in the French capital’s Gare du Nord before repeatedly stabbing him.

The helpless victim suffered multiple wounds and was left in critical condition.

His assailant was later shot dead by an off-duty police officer, but not before he managed to stab his blade into five other people in what authorities say was an unprovoked mass stabbing.

Yesterday’s frenzied attack by the Libyan migrant who was officially “expelled” from France last year took place during the morning rush hour at one of Europe’s busiest train stations.

The harrowing clip of the attack showed the attacker throwing his victim to the ground before circling his thrashing legs and swinging the blade violently from far above his head.

He attacked a total of six people – a woman and the rest a man – before he was shot and taken to hospital.

All six sustained injuries and the man whose attack was caught on video was taken to intensive care in critical condition, but no one was killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, the Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said the attacker underwent surgery after being shot twice in the chest and once in the right arm. Investigators were unable to question him because of his condition, she said.

The undocumented Libyan was identified from fingerprint records, which showed he entered France in 2020.

He was ordered to leave the country last year after numerous trials for crimes, including criminal damage.

But he simply ignored the expulsion order and showed up at the Gare du Nord just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Yesterday’s frenzied attack by the Libyan migrant who was officially “expelled” from France last year took place during the morning rush hour at Gare du Nord – one of Europe’s busiest train stations

A witness to the attack, who asked not to be named, said: “I was at the Gare du Nord this morning with my friends to go on holiday and we were just entering the entrance when we heard someone screaming.

“People were lying on the ground, others got on the trains as quickly as possible. Someone had drawn a knife and was attacking people.

“I took care of the first wounded. I got the impression that the knifeman was just attacking anyone nearby.

“While looking after people, I heard shots – the law enforcement officers responded to the attacker.”

The suspect first targeted a man at the front of the station, as shown in the chilling video.

The attacker then approached the platforms and attacked four civilians and a border police officer.

France’s Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin praised the police’s “effective and courageous response” but made no official comment on how the Libyan ignored an expulsion order.

“Without the extremely rapid response, there would certainly be fatalities,” he said, explaining how the suspect was neutralized within a minute of attacking his first victim.

“At 6:42 the first files were written. At 6:43 a.m., the police used their administrative weapon following his act of violence,” he said.

Prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation and have said they did not initially treat the case as terrorist.

Last February, French police shot dead a man who had stabbed two officers at the Gare du Nord.

France has remained on heightened security following a spate of deadly attacks by Islamist radicals and others since 2015.

In December, a 69-year-old suspect confessed to having a “pathological hatred of foreigners” after allegedly shooting dead three Kurds near the same station.
