Skydiving horror as a man falls into a tree after BOTH parachutes fail – and paramedics work to pull him out of the branches

  • The skydiver fell into a tree in Wilton, a suburb 80 km southwest of Sydney
  • Rescuers rushed to the scene and found the man fully conscious
  • He was taken to the hospital with possible injuries to his ankles, hips and back

Paramedics have rushed to the dense bushland outside Sydney after a parachutist landed in a tree.

Ambulance services were called to Wilton, 80 km southwest of Sydney, around 2pm Monday following reports of a parachute jump accident.

The 32-year-old skydiver was jumping alone with Sydney Skydivers when both of his parachutes failed to deploy and fell to the ground.

Police and paramedics were called to find the man entangled in a tree near Picton and Wilton Park Road.

The skydiver is said to have sustained injuries to his ankles, hips and back, but is conscious and in stable condition.

It is understood the skydiver was fully conscious and speaking when ambulances arrived.

It is understood that an investigation into the cause of the accident will be launched once the skydiving company is able to speak to the skydiver.
