Smash Ultimate Gourmet Race: How to Win the Gourmet Race

In Smash Ultimate Gourmet Race, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players around the world have been fighting since minute one to unlock every character in the game. A tricky unlock is that of King Dedede, who requires players to win the Smash Ultimate Gourmet Race for a chance to beat him. Here’s how to do it.

The mode challenges players to collect as much food as possible, with a certain threshold determining whether or not King Dedede will appear. This method ensures that he does.

At the start of the race, take the up path to the top of the map and pick up the pear. Go straight and then take the next turning down to get the soup. Follow this path toward the end of the race and grab the coke before turning back down for the sandwich. Proceed to the end of the race on the right side of the screen and get another bowl of soup.

At the next fork, turn down to get the lettuce, then turn up again to get the loaf of bread. Head right and grab the apple before emerging for the shish kebab. Turn right to the full chicken and then follow the grapes to the finish line.

If you follow these steps carefully, you will get a chance to challenge King Dedede. Defeat him and he will join your character roster.
