The 30-year-old was embroiled in a heated feud with Poland’s Kamil Grabara throughout the season as they battled to become the club’s goalkeeper, with Grabara insulting the Australian on several occasions.
After Ryan’s shock mistake resulted in Argentina’s second goal in the Socceroos’ 2-1 defeat in the World Cup round of 16 last year, Grabara sarcastically tweeted that keeping the Australian keeper out of Copenhagen “must have been policy”.
Responding to the insult after the match, Ryan said: “Not surprised actually. His opinion is none of my business.’

Ryan, who has struggled for consistency in recent years, believes he will be able to bring his best game to the new club.
“It’s a really good club with a lot of ambition and it’s really exciting,” Ryan told the club’s website.
“It’s a new chapter, (there’s) the excitement of not knowing what’s going to unfold.
“When you are ambitious you dream of reaching the highest heights and there is a lot to play for here at AZ, where the circumstances are in the league, in European football and in the national cup.

“I am confident that I can come here and contribute to the team and our goals.”
The club’s director of football Max Huiberts says the veteran Australian glove man is exactly what AZ were looking for.
“He has shown that he is good at various levels and was our top candidate from the start,” said Huiberts.
“We were looking for someone who would be there as soon as he was fit. That’s him.
