Sofia Vergara looks happier than ever in Beverly Hills… after wowing the first teaser for her drug lord series Griselda

Sofia Vergara looked happier than ever as she arrived at a parking lot in Beverly Hills on Thursday afternoon.

The 51-year-old actress smiled from ear to ear as she cut a casual figure.

The “Modern Family” star, who recently left the set of “America’s Got Talent” after being mocked by Howie Mandel, tucked a light gray T-shirt into slim-fitting light blue jeans that were rolled up at the bottom.

Vergara also wore a pair of jet black high-heeled shoes that contrasted perfectly with the light tone of her pants. The Primetime Emmy Award-nominated artist accessorized with a chic handbag and sunglasses.

This appearance comes on the same day that the actress thrilled fans in the first teaser for her drug lord series Griselda, in which she plays the title character.

The show comes from the creators of the hit series Narcos.

Vergara, who is divorcing Joe Manganiello, was almost unrecognizable in the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Netflix limited series Griselda, which was released on Thursday.

While portraying Colombian drug cartel leader Griselda Blanco, known as the “Godmother of Cocaine,” the actress completely transformed into a Colombian businesswoman, which included sporty facial cuts.

In the 36-second first teaser, the Modern Family alum is seen pulling up in a car as a group of men stare silently at her, waiting for her arrival.

“You’ve been thinking about me a lot, haven’t you?” Vergara begins. “I heard you liked my product. Together we can make a lot of money.’

After panning shots of illegal substances being transported, a man snorting cocaine, and bags full of cash, someone is heard asking, “Who’s responsible?”

Vergara appears with a stern expression on her face as she stares directly into the camera while ominous music plays in the background.

According to Netflix, the bilingual crime series is inspired by the life of the smart and ambitious Blanco, who they describe as a “devoted mother” who “created one of the most profitable cartels in history.”

The synopsis also states, “Blanco’s deadly mix of unexpected fierceness and charm helped her deftly navigate between business and family.”

The rest of the star cast includes Alberto Guerra as Dario, Vanessa Ferlito as Isabel, Alberto Ammann as Alberto Bravo and Christian Tappan as Arturo.

Coming to Netflix in January 2024, Griselda comes from the creators and executive producers of Narcos and Narcos: Mexico.

This is Vergara’s first live-action scripted project since announcing her divorce from Joe Manganiello in July 2023 after seven years of marriage.

In 2022, the mother-of-one revealed it took her two hours in the makeup chair to transform into her figure.

Blanco is considered one of the most profitable cartels in history.

The career criminal, who is only 1.60 meters tall, was involved in pickpocketing and prostitution from a young age – but it didn’t take long for her crimes to escalate.

After being plunged into the cocaine industry by her second husband, whom she later killed, Griselda built a thriving drug empire that earned her more than $80 million a month.

She embraced her criminal persona – her nicknames were “The Black Widow”, “The Godmother of Cocaine” and “The Boss” – and was unafraid to flaunt her ill-gotten gains.

But after her incarceration, things began to unravel as authorities tried to bring charges against the devoted mother in more than 200 murders.

Griselda served ten years behind bars before being deported back to Colombia, where she was shot dead at the age of 69 as she left a butcher shop.

She remains one of the most notorious drug lords in history and was a central figure in documentaries such as Cocaine Cowboys (2006) and Cocaine Cowboys 2: Hustlin’ with the Godmother (2008), as well as the film The Cocaine Godmother (2017) with Catherine Zeta-Jones .
