Sons of the Forest release date has been pushed back to early 2023

Development studio Endnight Games announced that it has been forced to delay The Forest sequel, Sons of the Forest, to February 23, 2023.

The studio wrote the following in its announcement, which was posted on Twitter on Wednesday: “Due to the scale of our new game Sons Of The Forest, it has been difficult to pinpoint an exact release date and today we have to postpone it one last time. To allow time to complete any polish that we feel is necessary, we will be releasing on February 23, 2023 at a price of $29.99.”

Sons of the Forest aims to take everything Endnight Games established in The Forest to new heights. The Forest offered survival and base-building on an unusual, free-form narrative that players could engage in in their own timeline. The sequel will add NPC elements, mutated enemies, and changing seasons, and players can play alone or with a group of friends.

The story remains largely classified, but the game’s Steam store page states: “Sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island, you find yourself in a cannibal-infested hellscape. Craft, build and fight to survive alone or with friends in this terrifying new open world survival horror simulator.” Sons of the Forest release date has been pushed back to early 2023
