Sony unveils customizable accessibility controller project Leonardo

Announced at CES, Sony has unveiled its new customizable Accessibility Controller Kit for use with the PlayStation 5.
Titled Project Leonardo, the kit was designed to address challenges faced by many gamers with limited motor control, including difficulty holding a controller for long periods of time, accurately pressing small groups of buttons or triggers, or thumb and fingers to be optimally positioned on a standard controller.
It includes a kit with interchangeable components such as B. A variety of caps and buttons for analog sticks in different shapes and sizes. Players can customize the controller layout to suit their preferences, strength, or range of motion.
In a blog post, Hideaki Nishino, SIE’s senior vice president of platform experience, said the kit was developed “with key input from accessibility experts, community members, and game developers.”
“Through discussions with accessibility experts and incredible organizations like AbleGamers, SpecialEffect and Stack Up, we’ve created a highly configurable controller that works with many third-party accessories and integrates with the PS5 console to open up new gaming possibilities. “

At the time of writing, the Leonardo project is currently under development. Sony has yet to announce a kit release date and price.
