A memorial service was held in Gianluca Vialli’s hometown of Cremona on Monday, commemorating the life of the Italian football legend, who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer.
The service at the Parrocchia di Cristo Re church in the Lombardy region was attended by former teammates and friends of Vialli.
His funeral will take place later this week in London, where he has lived for many years as he enjoyed working in roles with former club Chelsea and also with the Italy national team.
Vialli’s longtime friend and ex-Juventus team-mate Fabrizio Ravanelli was captured in the church during mass in an all-black suit.

Former Chelsea, Juventus and Sampdoria striker Vialli died aged 58 in a London hospital last week after a brave five-year battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his family.
Vialli was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in 2021 after being given the all-clear in April of the same year after a 17-month battle with the disease.
