Stephen “tWitch” Boss “left a suicide note at the motel that alludes to past challenges” before he died

Stephen “tWitch” reportedly left Boss a suicide note at a motel that alluded to challenges he’d faced in the past and put his phone on airplane mode before shooting himself.

The ambiguous note was left at the site of the 40-year-old’s suicide, just a mile from his home, TMZ reported.

Boss, a longtime executive producer on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, checked into the Oak Tree Inn in Encino around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

He was found dead in the room’s bathroom the next day when he was unable to check out.

TMZ said he put his phone on airplane mode so he couldn’t be contacted.

Boss’s nine-year-old wife, Allison Holker, contacted the Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday to report him missing.

Holker insisted there had been no fight or argument that hastened his departure, just three days into their wedding anniversary, and said his lack of contact was extremely uncharacteristic.

Police escorted Holker back to the family home to briefly search for clues to his disappearance — but shortly thereafter, an 911 call came in from a nearby motel, where a housekeeper had discovered Boss dead of a gunshot wound.

An LAPD spokesman declined to comment on the matter when reached by DailyMail.com on Thursday.

Boss, 40, and Holker, 34, shared three children: Zaia, 3, Maddox Laurel, 6, and Weslie Renae, 14, who was born to Alison’s previous relationship but was adopted by Stephen.

On Wednesday, she paid tribute to him in a heartfelt statement — she would “save the last dance for him” — before welcoming tearful family members to her home in Encino.

DailyMail.com previously revealed that Boss checked into room 249 at the Oak Tree Inn in Encino around 10.30am Monday and was found dead in the room’s bathroom the next day when he failed to check out.

“He went to his room and never came out,” manager Rakesh said.

“At 11:15 on Tuesday the maid opened the door to check on the room. His things were in there, but nobody was there. She checked the bathroom and there was blood everywhere.

“She was very scared. This is the first time something like this has happened here.

“We called 911, they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing. The paramedics and the police came and said he was dead.”

Rakesh, who asked to be identified by his first name only, said neither guests nor staff heard the shot.

“Maybe he did it during the day on Monday. It’s a busy, noisy street out here, so it’s possible that nobody heard it,’ he said.

Boss had called around 9:20 a.m. Monday to see if rooms were available and then walked the few blocks from his home. Rakesh said he appeared “completely normal” and “calm”.

When we knocked on the door, there was no answer,” Rakesh said. ‘The maid opened the door and there were still his things in the room.’

Another employee confirmed that Boss shot himself in the head, and the manager added that he did it in the bathroom.

They said he used his own name to check into the motel on Monday and wasn’t discovered until Tuesday morning.

He worked on Ellen’s show from 2014 until it ended in 2022 and was named executive producer in 2020.

Jennifer Lopez, Questlove and Michelle Obama were among the famous names reminiscent of Boss, a beloved dancer and DJ.

DeGeneres has paid tribute to him as her “family” and “pure love and light” — adding that she was heartbroken.

The star said: “I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox and Zaia.”

Sharing a post on her Instagram page, Lopez wrote, “Twitch was such a light and a beautiful soul. Shocked and deeply saddened.

“My heart breaks for @sir_twitch_alot, his wife and children. I send you love and strength.’

Just a month before his death, the beloved DJ had revealed to The Jennifer Hudson Show that he and his wife are considering expanding their family – saying: “I love the little babies, I love them. It’s a constant conversation.’

The latest video tWitch posted to social media shows him smiling and laughing with his family as he lifts his daughter in the air and happily swings her around.
