Sydney Thunder records lowest T20 total ever against Adelaide Strikers

Humiliation for Alex Hales and the Sydney Thunder after the Big Bash League side recorded an all-time low total in T20 history with a pathetic 15 runs from just 35 balls against Adelaide Strikers… and even Ben Stokes can’t believe it!

Sydney Thunder went down in the history books for the wrong reasons on Friday after recording the lowest total in Twenty20 history against Adelaide.

Chasing a total of 140 sets by the Strikers at Sydney’s Showground Stadium, Alex Hales’ side were destroyed in just 35 balls, with Henry Thornton winning five wickets for just three balls on his 26th birthday.

The Thunder’s pitiful total is the lowest ever scored in the shorter format, beating the 21 Turks in 2019 against the Czech Republic.

Former Sydney Sixers star Brett Lee said on Fox Sports: “I’m speechless, I really am. It’s appalling for the Sydney Thunder. It’s great bowling, but really?’

Man of the Match Henry Thornton said: “Even in the backyard, they are [my best figures]. They just stole everything and we caught everything. It is a good feeling.”
