At least 10 people, including a child, are believed dead after a seaplane crashed in Washington’s Mutiny Bay on Sunday.

US Coast Guard crews were responding to a report of a seaplane that crashed in Mutiny Bay, west of Whidbey Island in the USCG’s Pacific Northwest tweeted.

The Coast Guard initially tweeted that there were nine people on board the plane but later confirmed there were 10 people making up the pilot.

One body was recovered and the others remain missing, USCG tweeted.

“Search updates will be provided as they become available,” USCG wrote in a tweet.

The plane was flying from Friday Harbor to Seattle Tacoma International Airport when it crashed, the Coast Guard reported.

Mutiny Bay is about an hour north of Seattle.
