Terrible moment NYPD officer BEATS 12-year-old girl at Staten Island bus stop

A New York City Police Department officer has been suspended after video surfaced showing him brutally beating a 12-year-old girl while trying to break up an argument on Tuesday.

Horrific footage showed the as-yet-unnamed officer raining blows on the girl’s head while others tried to drag her out of the melee.

The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. at a bus stop near Edwin Markham Middle School on Staten Island.

Officers reportedly arrived at the scene to break up a fight between two sisters, 12 and 14, who assaulted another 14-year-old girl.

The policeman in the video was hit by the 12-year-old girl and responded in turn.

The sisters were both arrested, with the elder charged with resisting arrest and assault, and the younger with a juvenile complaint alleging assault, police said.

Horrified users on social media reacted to the video posted to Instagram after the ordeal.

One person wrote: “No matter what she did; that is outrageous. The police have so many other better options.”

Another highlighted how the police officer appeared to use excessive force in trying to break up the schoolgirls’ argument: “That’s SO over the top.”

A third asked: “How much bravery does it take for a grown man to repeatedly smack a teenager on the back of the head?”

And another social media user added: “The cop threw about 8-9 punches, all with hammer fists to the back of the head.

“This is literally the most dangerous punch, illegal in any martial arts organization.”
