The 10 most anticipated Xbox Series X|S exclusive games coming in 2023

Xbox gamers can look forward to 2023. Here are some of the most anticipated games coming out this year.
While first-party Xbox releases have been hard to come by in 2022, things are set to change in 2023, with a number of big titles slated to launch at Xbox studios over the course of the year. However, third-party releases will continue to dominate the calendar, with titles from Capcom, EA and more.
Here are 10 of the most anticipated games to look forward to coming to Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
Bethesda’s upcoming RPG Starfield is arguably the most anticipated game to be released in 2023. With over 1,000 planets to explore, this new IP could also be the most ambitious title of the year. Starfield was originally scheduled to be released in November 2022, but was delayed until sometime in the first half of 2023. Neither Microsoft nor Bethesda have given a new, official release date for this PC and Xbox exclusive, so keep an eye out for this space.
Another new game from Bethesda, this time from development studio Arm Arkane Austin. Redfall is a new open-world FPS set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts. The problem? It’s full of vampires. Players can choose between four playable characters, each with their own abilities, and eradicate the threat alone or with friends. Like Starfield, Redfall is also set to launch in the first half of 2023.
The next entry in the Forza franchise is simply titled Forza Motorsport. Intended to be a reboot, this upcoming motorsport racing game was first announced during Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase in July 2020. It is expected to release on Xbox Series X|S and PC this spring.
Follow the story of a young girl on a mysterious and alive planet, accompanied by a little black cat. Together they solve puzzles, discover strange machines and creatures, and uncover mysteries that span galaxies and centuries. Developed by Wishful, Planet of Lana launches on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this spring.
Replaced, an action platformer developed by Sad Cat Studios, offers players retro sci-fi action in a 2.5D pixel art style. Players take on the role of an AI trapped in a human body that has not adapted to human society. Replaced launches this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the long-awaited sequel to 2007’s Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. In this survival horror first-person shooter, players find themselves hunting for artifacts in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. The game will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023
Ark 2, the sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved, has been highly anticipated since its announcement at The Game Awards 2020. The game will star Vin Diesel and Auliʻi Cravalho in key roles and is set to come into early access on Microsoft Windows and the Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
The sequel to Ninja Theory’s awe-inspiring Hellblade, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II reunites players with Senua as she embraces her insanity as a part of herself as she leads her own tribe through their struggles. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was announced back in 2019, and while it’s launching on Xbox and PC, the game doesn’t have a release window just yet.
The sequel to 2019’s Obsidian RPG The Outer Worlds was announced during the Xbox and Bethesda joint E3 presentation in 2021. Although the game doesn’t have a release date yet, it is slated to come out on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
A surprise announcement during Xbox Games Showcase in 2020: Fable will reboot the legendary RPG series. This time the development will be led by Playground Games. Unfortunately, Fable doesn’t have a release date yet, but it will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
