A beauty salon franchise is on the verge of closing after its owner announced the closure of another of its branches.
The Ella Bache salon at the Hyperdome mall in Logan, Queensland, has closed for good after 19 years, its owner Roslyn Rudd has announced.
Ms Rudd blamed the effects of the Covid pandemic for the closure.
Her company, EBQ Nominees, ran three Ella Bache salons, one in Toowong, Brisbane, but closed in 2021 for similar reasons.
It remains to be seen what will happen to Ms Rudd’s third and final Ella Bache salon, which is located in Westfield Chermside in Brisbane.
A liquidation notice issued by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission said a liquidator had been appointed for Ms Rudd’s company – and that notice named the Chermside business.

“To all our valued customers, we regret to announce that upon the expiration of our lease, we faced the mall’s horrific decision to move or leave,” Ms Rudd wrote on Instagram.
“Financially we are not in a position to invest in a new salon after all the impact of COVD on our business in recent years.”
“So we’re done at the Logan Hyperdome, the salon is now closed.”
“Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life for the past 19+ years.”
“Our staff and I will always cherish our shared memories of your visits, some of which have been going on for so many, many years.”
She added that all Ella Bache gift cards could be redeemed at other stores as well.

Loyal customers expressed their disappointment at the closure of the salon.
“Roslyn is so sad to hear about your store. You and your staff are definitely the best and I will miss you all,” wrote one user.
“I’m so sad I just called and booked and then googled… I’ve been going to you for years now,” wrote a second.
“This is sad news, all the best for the future to each of you,” wrote a third.
However, one user was upset by the store’s quick closure, which resulted in her not having an appointment she had booked over a month earlier.
“This is sad news but it would have been nice to know before I showed up for my appointment I booked six weeks ago,” she wrote.
