The Miami Heat were defeated by the Boston Celtics in an all team effort 110-97 at the wild TD Garden.
Boston, who had lost five of their last seven home playoff games, faced another elimination game.
Miami led 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals and again failed to end the streak. The Heat will have the opportunity to do so in Game 6 at their home stadium on Saturday night.
“They’re letting us get two, so let’s not get another one,” warned Jaylen Brown during his post-game interview on TNT.
No franchise in NBA playoff history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. Only three teams have ever forced a Game 7.

It was a smile for the Celtics, who utterly demolished Miami with a dominant G5 performance

Marcus Smart got the Boston fans in an uproar after one of his four 3-point shots. He went 4/6 3pt

Jimmy Butler didn’t play in the last quarter of the bust and scored 14 points that night
“Your back is against the wall, you have no choice,” said Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla after the game.
“It creates a connection and it creates an opportunity.”
It was a complete team effort from the men in green. Derrick White scored first place on the C’s with 24 points.
He was closely followed by fellow starters Marcus Smart (23), Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum (21).
At no point did the Heat lead in Boston and were trailing 35-20 by the end of the first quarter. Things weren’t faring much better for Miami, trailing 61-44 at halftime and 90-72 at the end of the third round.
The loss was so severe that Erik Spoelstra decided to sit out both Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo for the entire fourth quarter.

Jaylen Brown celebrated with the Celtics crowd after the essential fifth game

Duncan Robinson led all heat scorers with 18 points off the bench as Miami returned to FL.

Jayson Tatum was one of four Boston starters to score more than 20 points in the 110-97 blowout
“We just have to play better, the games start better,” said Butler after the defeat.
“But we will always remain positive and know that we can and will win this series.” And we just have to finish it at home.
“The last two games are not what we are. It was just like that.”
While Boston was making ultimate history, it set another NBA record at TD Garden. For the first time in association history, Boston’s starters combined had more than 12 three-pointers and more than 12 steals.
After the comfortable win, the Celtics went 4-0 down when they retired this postseason – a franchise record.
Duncan Robinson led all heat scorers with 18 points from the bench. Close behind were Bam Adebayo (16), Haywood Highsmith (15), Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin (14).
