The Finals Open Beta: Is it cross-platform?

The Finals are back for another public test, but this time it’s an open beta. No more begging or searching for keys! To accommodate this huge influx of players, developers at Embark Studios have expanded their testing to include console platforms, expanding The Finals’ playing field even further. Here’s what you need to know about The Finals Open Beta platform functionality.

The Finals is an explosive game show shooter from former DICE developers, the minds behind Battlefield. The game features the team’s typical destructive action, but transplants it into a chaotic virtual environment. The gameplay is reminiscent of the old-school Capture the Flag and King of the Hill modes and marks a significant departure from the current battle royale and extraction shooter trend.

According to an X post from Embark Studios, The Finals Open Beta is cross-platform. This means players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC can play with each other. Please note that last generation consoles are not currently supported. Additionally, players who have previously participated in PC testing can transfer their progress to console by linking their Embark ID account.

In this test, players only have a few days to play the finals. For more information and tips, check out our beginner’s guide to stand out from the competition.
