The NFL orders all 32 teams not to enter into conversations with Ken Francis about Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson’s contract saga takes a bizarre turn when the NFL sends a memo to teams telling them not to negotiate with Ken Francis … but the Ravens’ QB replies, “This man never tried for.” to negotiate me.”

The NFL sent out a memo to all 32 NFL teams on Thursday, informing them not to enter into discussions with an uncertified person claiming to represent Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

“The NFLPA has informed us that an individual named Ken Francis, who is not an NFLPA-certified agent, may be contacting clubs and attempting to persuade club officials to enter into negotiations with or regarding Lamar Jackson, who is currently under a non-exclusive Franchise tender with the Baltimore Ravens,” the memo begins.

“As an uncertified person, Mr. Francis is prohibited from negotiating offer sheets or player contracts, or discussing potential deals on behalf of any NFL player or prospective player, or assisting or advising in such negotiations.

“Clubs are reminded that under Article 48 of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, an offer sheet that may result in an NFL player contract may only be negotiated with the player if he is acting on his own behalf or on behalf of the NFLPA-certified player Agent.

“To be clear, Mr. Jackson is not currently represented by an NFLPA-certified agent. Breach of this rule may result in rejection of any offer sheet or resulting player contract made by Mr Jackson and the new club.’

In a bizarre turn of events, Jackson, who is representing himself directly in contract talks, tweeted to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that he should “stop lying” since “this man never tried to negotiate for me.”

Pelissero, usually a credible source along with colleague Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, originally tweeted, “Ken Francis is a Florida man who was last introduced to a home fitness invention, I’m told.

“He’s now trying to negotiate a nine-figure deal with NFL teams who are being told they can’t deal with him because he’s not a certified agent.”
