The second batch of Biden-classified documents was found in a Wilmington garage storage facility

A second batch of classified documents was found in a “storage room” of a garage at President Biden’s home in Wilmington, the White House attorney said Thursday.

Richard Sauber, the president’s special counsel, said the files were immediately turned over to the National Archives and the Justice Department notified.

What information was contained in the files and when they were found is still unclear.

It comes as the White House faces multiple questions as to why the discoveries have not yet been disclosed and who handled them.

The first set of files, found a week before the November midterms, was in a locked closet at the Penn Biden Center in Washington DC

They are believed to have contained information about Iran, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and personal family information, including documents relating to the funeral of late son Bean.

“As we have said before, we are cooperating fully with the national archives and the Justice Department to ensure that all records of the Obama-Biden administration are properly held by the archives,” Sauber said in Thursday’s statement.

“Following the discovery of government documents at the Penn Biden Center in November 2022, and in close coordination with the Justice Department, the President’s attorneys searched the President’s residences in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware — the other locations where files from his Vice- The presidential office may have been sent out during the 2017 transition.

“The lawyers completed this review last night.

“During the review, attorneys uncovered a small number of additional Obama-Biden administration records with classified markings among personal and political papers.

“All but one of these documents were found in the storage room of the President’s garage in Wilmington.

“A document consisting of one page was discovered among stored materials in an adjacent room. No documents were found at the Rehoboth Beach residence.

“As was the case with the Penn-Biden Center, the Justice Department was immediately notified and attorneys arranged for the Justice Department to take possession of these documents.

“The White House will continue to cooperate with the Justice Department’s review.”

The White House released the statement just before Biden was due to provide the media with comments on new inflation figures.

This followed a controversial White House briefing on Wednesday, during which reporters pressed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre as to why the discovery of the classified materials had not been announced earlier days before the November election.

Republicans are already demanding that a special counsel review the matter at the Justice Department to determine how to proceed.

A special counsel is already investigating the possession of top-secret materials belonging to former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence. FBI agents searched the residence this summer as part of a grand jury subpoena following a month-long trial attempting to obtain government materials.

The discovery of classified materials in Biden’s Penn office had already sparked demands from Republicans for an investigation into the matter — and that was before the most recent discovery.

In particular, the public prosecutor’s office did not name the exact number of documents found.

Biden has blasted Trump’s handling of materials in the past, saying he takes care when he brings home classified documents as president, is briefed in a secured room, and returns classified materials to a military aide.
