“They need a new studio”

dr Disrespect was back on Monday, sharing his unedited, unadulterated take on Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 – Raven Software shouldn’t be working on it.

Warzone 2.0 is rumored to be out in November this year and is set to be an “all new,” “state-of-the-art experience” being developed alongside Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare II. Of course, this was the same recipe that the original Warzone followed in 2020 before apparently handing the keys to Raven of late.

Heading into the next era of Call of Duty, however, the self-proclaimed “most ruthless, athletic competitor in video game history” seems to have recognized a clear shift that needs to happen for Warzone 2.0 to be successful.

During his Aug. 29 stream, Dr. Disrespect on what appeared to be a 17 kill solo dub on Caldera before finally being defeated by his self-reviving opponent with perfect positioning.

Shortly thereafter, the Doc seemingly didn’t hold back on his tirade – one aimed not at the player but at the developers themselves.

“Self-Resuscitation in Solos. Braindead Fucking Game Design,” said Dr Disrespect on air. “Bring this game to a new team. Holy shit.

“I’m fed up with Call of Duty these days. I’m already over Warzone today. I literally am. I’m already over Warzone. It’s a slumber party. It’s seventh grade design I think. This game just makes me so damn bitter man.”

TimTheTatman soon joined Dr Disrespect in the stream, after which the two-time champion added that Raven needs to be replaced in Warzone 2.0.

“I hope Raven isn’t on Warzone 2,” said Dr. Disrespect. “They need a new studio. They need a new studio that got into this damn game. They really do, man. Fingers crossed Modern Warfare 2 is good, but even more Warzone 2 is good. Because if Raven builds Warzone 2, you might as well chalk it up now.”

Finally, Dr. Disrespect added that Activision should simply reach out to Treyarch to lead the Warzone 2.0 overhaul.

“I feel like it needs to change dramatically in terms of its personality, its looks, its fiction, whatever it is – the gameplay needs to change. That was the cool thing about going from Blackout to Warzone. It felt like there was a very stark contrast between the two styles of play and the studios involved. Now that Raven kind of took it on and supported it with Warzone, Caldera and all that shit, if they support Warzone 2, we’re just going to get more of that shit.”
