Thousands of bottles of French champagne, delicious treats and a ‘secret tequila bar’: how the other half will live in the celebrity-filled Birdcage at the Melbourne Cup

Australian celebrities are gearing up in droves for one of the most anticipated social events of the year – the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The country’s biggest stars will take part in the world-famous ‘Birdcage’ across multiple days of racing at Flemington Racecourse.
Famous faces will feast on delicious delicacies and desserts while sipping expensive champagne in the exclusive area.
Luxury brands pitching at the Birdcage include GH Mumm, the event’s official champagne sponsor, as well as Lexus and Penfolds.
Those lucky enough also have access to a secret Don Julio tequila bar that offers specialty cocktails and live performances.

GH Mumm has transformed its two-story marquee into a Parisian garden.
Dancers greet guests in the marquee with a theatrical performance as they enter the room.

The champagne tent will be the centerpiece of the Birdcage, which also features a Bird Bath Bar and a Pamper Lounge.
Guests have the opportunity to experience interactive moments throughout the cage, which features live entertainment.
Meanwhile, Japanese car company Lexus’ motto “Landmark by Lexus” will focus on “rest and relaxation.”
The space is intended to combine Japanese traditions with local materials and ingredients.

Supermodel Adut Akech will be visiting the company’s marquee as an exclusive guest.
Meanwhile, Furphy will also have its marquee back in the Birdcage – with “an atrium in the middle and bespoke bars”.
South Australian wine producer Penfolds will take guests through an “underwater wonderland”.
