Three people and a dog have died in a hotel fire in Perth and 999 crew members rushed to the scene after the fire broke out, Police Scotland have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to a report from a fire at the New County Hotel, County Place, sJust before 5:10 a.m. today.
Three people were confirmed dead at the scene, while a number of others were treated for minor injuries by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Hotel guests and two people from a neighboring block of flats have been evacuated and are being assisted.

Deputy First Minister John Swinney described the deaths as “heartbreaking news”.
Mr Swinney, the MSP for Perthshire North, tweeted: “My condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy.”
Chief Superintendent Phil Davison said: “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who have died at what is a very difficult time for everyone.
“Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and officers are conducting a joint inquiry with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”

A police cordon is in place and residents are asked to avoid the area.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it sent nine devices to the scene after the alarm went off at 5.02am.
A spokesman for SFRS said: “We are currently present along with emergency services partners at a fire at a commercial building on County Place in Perth.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 05:05 from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service about a fire at the New County Hotel in Perth.
“We responded with 21 resources, including our special operations resource team, with our first resource being on the scene at 05:12.”
