Tottenham striker Lucas Moura is ready to see his contract and leave for free in the summer with a potential return to Brazil for the striker.

The Brazilian has only played two games this season and missed two months of the season with a calf injury.

He has found himself at the bottom of the pecking order at Spurs this season and while a departure in January remains unlikely unless the club find a replacement, Moura is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old is wanted by his ex-club Sao Paulo in Brazil, but is also expecting offers from England. Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle all showed interest in Moura last summer.

It was in Sao Paulo that Moura first made his mark after joining the club when he was 13.

After being promoted from the academy, he made 86 appearances for the club, scoring 22 goals and amassing 19 assists in two seasons before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.

He joined north London five years later and became a reliable asset for Spurs. The highlight of his stint was his memorable hat-trick in the Champions League semifinals against Ajax that sent Tottenham through to the final of the competition in 2019.

He has scored 38 goals and provided 27 assists in the 213 games he has played for Spurs but could now be ready to return to his homeland once his contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium expires.

Moura might not be the only upcoming exit from the club. Tottenham expect talks with Napoli next week over the permanent sale of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
