Two boys, aged two and five, are found dead in Dagenham when a man and woman are arrested
- The bodies were discovered at a property on Cornwallis Road after 2pm on Friday
- A man and woman known to the children have been arrested, Met Police said
- The force said autopsies had been scheduled and family members had been informed
An investigation is underway after two boys were found dead at a house in east London today.
The Metropolitan Police said they have arrested a man and woman after the grisly discovery – made just nine days before Christmas – at a property on Cornwallis Road in Dagenham.
The force said officers and the London Ambulance Service found them Bodies of a two-year-old and a five-year-old just after 2 p.m. Friday. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Met added that her family has been informed and is being assisted by specialist officials.

Autopsies and formal identifications will be arranged in due course.
The statement added: “A woman was arrested a short time later in connection with the incident. She was arrested after police were called to a disturbance at a residential address near the crime scene.
“A man was also arrested near the crime scene in connection with the incident. Both the man and the woman remain in police custody.”
The investigation is being conducted by Met’s East Area BCU detectives working with colleagues from Specialist Crime. The woman and man arrested were known to both children, police said.
Detective Inspector Sean Treweek of the Met’s BCU East Area added: “This is clearly an extremely distressing incident with many unanswered questions, but no one else is being sought in connection with the deaths at this very early stage.
“I would like to thank the local people for the support they have given to officers as they worked with partner agencies to determine the full circumstances of these two tragic deaths.
“You will see additional officers in the area and anyone with information or concerns should speak to those officers.”
Cordons remain in place at the site and investigations continue.
