Tyson Fury has confirmed on social media that he is in talks again with Anthony Joshua for a fight at Wembley in September and has even admitted to sending AJ a “draft contract” earlier in the week.

Fury and Joshua were locked in talks over a battle in the Battle of Britain last year but talks stalled after the Gypsy King grew impatient waiting for AJ to sign the contract.

Negotiations for the much-anticipated fight had been going on for months before both parties said the fight, which was scheduled to take place on December 3, 2022, had been officially declared void.

The Gypsy King said he was furious with AJ for “wasting his time” and explained he will never fight the 32-year-old again because of it.

However, Fury has made a sensational about-face, confirming on Instagram that he is back in negotiations with AJ for a September fight and even admitting to having sent Joshua a “draft contract”.

The Gypsy King confirmed the news by captioning a picture of himself and AJ, “A few days ago I sent Anthony Joshua a draft contract for a fight in September.”

“It’s a fight that everyone wants to see, including me.” With AJ, we can give the world what it wants to see.

‘This time I’m not going to make a million videos and keep pushing.’ The ball is in your side now.’

His heavyweight opponent has yet to respond to the social media message, which has so far garnered over 35,000 likes in less than 30 minutes, as British boxing fans dream of a heavyweight showdown between two of the country’s top fighters.

Joshua is represented by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and negotiating a title fight with Fury could require extensive renewed negotiations as both parties try to agree on a purse split between the two contenders.

Fury reportedly only sent a 60/40 split agreement to Joshua in September, when Hearn confirmed talks to stage the fight were underway.

However, the heavyweight world champion’s stated intention to rekindle a fight with Joshua could be too late. Joshua’s camp announced Thursday that they are targeting a date for his next appearance in August.

Hearn has been in talks of a year-end megafight with fellow British heavyweight Dillian Whyte, but the possibility of a showdown with Fury could derail that.

Agreeing on a deal with Fury could be Joshua’s last chance to regain his world heavyweight title after losing his IBF, WBA and WBO belts to Oleksandr Usyk.

There had previously been hopes that Usyk and Fury could meet in a reunion showdown but talks quickly collapsed with no date in sight at the moment.

Meanwhile, Usyk prepares to defend his heavyweight title against mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois.

Ukrainian promoter Alex Krassyuk confirmed today that they have been awarded the fight, which will take place in Poland on August 12th.
