Ubisoft shares update after Skull and Bones delay

After announcing that Skull and Bones would be delayed again, Ubisoft has released an update on the game’s development.

The update came via Twitter, where the Skull and Bones developers offered more information about the game’s release date. “Today we’d like to share an update regarding our release date as we’ve made the decision to delay Skull and Bones a bit more,” the post began.

“Our determination and focus remains the same – to provide our players with the best gaming experience possible from day one. This extra time will help us to further improve and balance our gaming experience based on your feedback from previous testing.”

Skull and Bones was originally supposed to be in the 3rd/4th Quarter of 2018, although the game was later pushed back to 2019 and then sometime after March 2020. In 2019, it was announced that the game had been postponed until at least April 2021–March 2022.

In May 2021, Ubisoft announced a subsequent postponement to the April 2022-March 2023 fiscal year. In July 2022, Skull and Bones was given a November 8 release date, only to be pushed back to March 9, 2023. This latest delay revealed that the game would be pushed back again, this time to a 2023-2024 release window.

“We also have a bunch of exciting content on our social channels ready to be shared with you,” the post continued.

“Additional information on our new release date and upcoming testing phases will be shared with you all very soon, so stay tuned and follow the conversation.”

The post ended by thanking fans for their continued support of Skull and Bones.
