Brandon Moreno was forced to flee the arena in Brazil after beating home favorite Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 283, shocking footage revealed.
The Mexican triumphed at the Lion’s Den in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours UK time, winning by TKO after doctors called off the fight because Figueiredo’s eye could not open.
And Moreno, who thereby regained the unified flyweight title, was forced to sprint from the venue flanked by security to avoid reprisals from angry fans.
Video posted to social media site Instagram shows Moreno being hurriedly led out of the arena while mugs of beer and other objects rain down on him, while some in the crowd express their frustration at the result.
In the clip, which has already garnered more than 100,000 likes, the commentator says, “And now he (Moreno) is being led out of the arena… oh my god, oh my god!”
