Unwanted puppy is unrecognizable after makeover and tries to find a new owner

Done until the end! Unwanted pooch who had 5kg of fur removed becomes unrecognizable after makeover to find a new owner
An unwanted pooch has had an amazing makeover to find him a new owner.
Barney, an Old English Sheepdog brought from a home in south London, had matted fur as he was never groomed.
The pup’s hair covered most of his face, meaning he couldn’t see, eat, or drink properly.
When it was severed it weighed an incredible 5kg and Barney looked like a completely different dog.
The RSPCA is now hoping the remodeling will help attract a new owner who can give the dog a permanent home.

He was accepted into the animal welfare organization and is now being cared for at Millbrook Animal Center in Woking, Surrey.
Not only was the five-year-old puppy not groomed, but it was also kept indoors and not allowed to exercise.
An RSPCA spokesman said: “An Old English Sheepdog has had an amazing transformation and looks like a completely different dog after removing 5kg of heavily matted fur.”
“Barney came into the care of the RSPCA from a home in south London where he had not exercised, been socialized or cared for for five years.
“When RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Chloe Wilson first saw him, she was shocked at how matted he was.”
Chloe said: “He was so matted that he had to be sedated by a vet to be clipped.”
“It was so bad that the matted fur covered his eyes and interfered with his eating and drinking.”

“Luckily he didn’t have any ongoing health concerns due to the matting.”
“He looked like a completely different dog after his thorough grooming.”
Sue Walters, a manager at Millbrook, said: “When Barney came to us he was so withdrawn and scared.
“But our team gave him a lot of time to trust him and now he’s made a lot of progress.”
“He now enjoys his walks with the people he knows and trusts.”

Sue added, “Barney needs a home that is slow to accompany him and gives him time to settle in and get used to the new family and home environment.”
“He needs an understanding home where his new family realizes it may take a while for him to bond with them.”
“Barney likes other dogs. Barney has been through a tough time and he is growing into such a loving dog and truly deserves the best.”
