Our Warzone SMG Tier List for September 2022 is here to check out which of the weapons are the best to use now that the new meta has settled down a bit following the launch of Raven Software’s latest major balancing update.
Since the first patch of Season 5, almost surprisingly, Warzone players have yet to see any weapon nerfs and buffs. That’s not to say the meta isn’t still evolving though. This is how the SMGs stack up in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 in September 2022.
There are eight SMGs in the S tier that remained Elite in Season 5. Ultimately, the Vanguard PPSh-41 might be the only “broken” option right now. Despite receiving big nerfs early in the new season, Armaguerra 43, H4 Blixen and Marco 5 all remain strong options. Meanwhile, the Type 100, RA 225, Sten, and MP-40 still translate to high K/D ratios for those using them, so feel free to keep doing so.
A good sign at the moment is the fact that there are a whopping 19 SMGs that are still viable at top tier and generally remain very balanced for use in Warzone. Essentially, these options sit just outside of the main meta, but are still capable of getting the job done and allowing you to be competitive. For those who have long waited for the day when the P90 was good, now is your time.
There are a handful of SMGs in B Tier that remain solid, but could still use a slight buff to get more players seriously considering using them. These options have proven to be decent, but likely won’t be anything special throughout the Warzone Pacific era.
Whether as a melee or sniper support option, these C-tier SMGs have been in the pack for far too long and have nowhere near a place in the meta. Unfortunately, in contrast to the P90, the equipment of the Striker 45 is still not worth it at all.
