Was Prince Harry’s necklace a gift from his ex?

The necklace, which the Duke of Sussex claims was torn from Prince William during a physical transformation in 2019, is believed to have been a gift from his ex-girlfriend Chelsea Davy.

In an extraordinary excerpt from his forthcoming autobiography, Spare recalls being physically assaulted by his sibling, which he describes as a physical attack that he claims left visible injuries, including scrapes and bruises, according to the Guardian newspaper.

Describing what allegedly happened next, the former soldier insisted he was scared: “He grabbed my collar, tore my necklace and threw me to the ground.”

Harry has been pictured wearing the same necklace, a silver pendant on a leather cord, for the past decade, although previous reports have said it was a gift from Chelsea.

Harry and Chelsea – who met while attending school in London – were a couple for six years from 2004 after Harry traveled to Zimbabwe during his gap year, where Chelsy’s billionaire father owns and runs a game reserve.

The Duke is believed to have started wearing the necklace at the end of the year and was pictured with the leather pendant around his neck at a rugby match in November.

He wore the necklace throughout their relationship and continued to wear the pendant after their breakup in 2011.

Chelsy said she doesn’t want to be a princess because she wants a career and a private life.

In March 2012, the jewel fell out of his shirt while playing rugby during his tour of Brazil.

At the time, The Daily Star claimed Chelsy gave Harry the necklace in the early days of their romance.

He continues to wear the pendant, and the leather cord is often visible when he wears an open collar at engagements.

In a series of interviews with Oprah Winfrey for the five-part AppleTV+ series The Me You Can’t See in 2021, the Duke added a new fob imprinted with the letter A to the leather cord.

In an excerpt from the book, reported today, Prince Harry claimed his brother William branded Meghan “difficult” and “rude” in a stand-up riot that ended with the Prince of Wales grabbing his collar and knocking him out to the ground threw soil onto a dog bowl.

The furious row reportedly broke out at his London home, Nottingham Cottage, in the grounds of Kensington Palace in 2019. William then turned and called back, “You don’t have to tell Meg about this.”

Harry claims he said, “You mean you attacked me?” to which William replied, “I didn’t attack you, Harold.”

The Duke of Sussex says the first person he spoke to about it was his therapist on the phone.

But he claims Meghan would see the cuts “scuffs and bruises” on his back from the dog bowl.

He claims his wife “wasn’t that surprised and wasn’t that angry. She was terribly sad.

The extract was published by the Guardian, who say a copy was leaked. It’s not known how the newspaper got hold of an early copy of the book, as publisher Penguin Random House went to great lengths to prevent leaks.
