We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie announced

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie was announced as part of the February 8th Nintendo Direct broadcast. Here’s everything we know about the remaster so far.

Although February’s Nintendo Direct was mostly focused on game releases in the first half of 2023, there were still a number of great surprises during the showcase’s 40-minute runtime. Amidst the hype surrounding their biggest release of the year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo has announced that a number of retro games are getting new life. Especially We Love Katamari.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is a remaster of the 2005 PS2 release We Love Katamari. The game was a sequel to the surprise hit Katamari Damacy, which also received a remaster in 2018.

According to a blog post by publisher Bandai Namco, We Love Katamari REROLL will add quality of life improvements, new modes like Selfie Mode and Eternal Mode, and five new challenges centered around the story of the young king of all cosmos.

Eternal mode allows players to roll their katamari with no time limit, aiming for a looser game.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie will be released on June 2nd, 2023 on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Pre-orders for the game have yet to go live, but fans should check Bandai Namco’s official website for the latest.
