‘Weird Al’ Yankovic kisses Madonna in trailer for satirical biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

On Monday, The Roku Channel unveiled the full trailer for Eric Appel’s fully authorized satirical biographical parody film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which premieres November 4th.

In it, Harry Potter graduate Daniel Radcliffe transforms into a party-happy version of five-time Grammy winner “Weird Al” Yankovic, a singer and accordion player who has made a career out of parodying hits.

The 33-year-old Englishman’s rock star characterization is a far cry from that of the real-life 62-year-old LA native – a healthy, longtime vegetarian who eschews profanity, alcohol and drugs.

In one fantastic scene, “Weird Al” is visited at his palatial Beverly Hills mansion by Queen of Pop Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood), who asks him if he would do a parody of her 1984 hit “Like a Virgin.”

“I’m curious, is the song autobiographical?” asked Yankovic.

The seven-time Grammy winner replied, “Yes, apart from having sex a lot.”

‘Weird Al’ and Madonna are then seen making out passionately on his wall.

In real life, it’s unclear if the two have ever met in person, but the 64-year-old Material Girl informed an acquaintance of her manager Jay Levey that she wanted Yankovic’s parody called “Like a Surgeon.”

The fantasy continues as Madonna becomes a “bad influence” on “Weird Al” as they are pursued by fans and paparazzi.

Yankovic is later seen performing his 1985 parody Like a Surgeon onstage while flanked by two Jean Paul Gaultier, cone bra-clad backup dancers from Madonna’s Blonde Ambition Tour in 1990.
