We’re identical twins and we’ve been wearing matching clothes every day for 23 years – we’re so alike it’s scary!

An identical pair of twins have enjoyed wearing matching outfits every day for the past 23 years.

Rosey Coles and Kathy Heffernan, both 69, from Hampshire, love to dress alike and even coordinate their glasses and pyjamas.

The sisters live next to each other and spend every day together taking bus rides, walking and shopping.

They share the same style and love to wear identical dresses and outfits when going out during the day.

The two worked together in their cleaning business for eleven years, but have since retired.

Kathy, mother of one, said: “It’s like being married to someone for 70 years.”

“People see us and ask for a photo.

“They say they don’t often see twins our age together.”

“We both have the same glasses.” We wear our hair the same way.

“We have the same pajamas, but we don’t always wear them at the same time.”

Rosey, mother of two, added, “When we go out, we wear the same things.”

“We’ve been together most days for the past 23 years.”

Growing up, the sisters wore many similar clothes from the age of 13, but they became mismatched when they both got married and moved apart.

Rosey married in 1974 and Kathy followed suit three years later.

The twins both separated from their husbands in 2000, moved closer together and began dressing alike again.

They moved in next to each other in 2012 and now share identical-looking apartments.

Kathy said: “We have exactly the same houses right now with the same layout and gray color scheme.”

Kathy and Rosey spent most days together — shopping, visiting villages, and even going to doctor appointments together.

The couple love to shop – and Kathy spent £600 on three John Lewis dresses during a recent shopping spree

Kathy said, “We do bus trips.” For a little trip, we go to a café in a village. Sometimes we take a car ride.’

The fashion-loving twins can’t help but shop for new outfits – even though their closet already includes over 50 items of clothing.

Her favorite outfits are 50’s style dresses – complete with petticoat skirts.

Kathy said, “We have so many clothes.” We always go to the store and look at something we like.

“The other day we spent three hours in John Lewis. I spent £600 on three dresses.

“We wear a lot of long dresses and jeans. We have the same coats. “The closet is tightly packed.”

Luckily, because of their similar tastes, there’s no conflict, and Kathy insists, “We don’t argue.”

Rosey and Kathy love the compliments they get on their matching outfits – and said most people have a hard time telling them apart.

Kathy said, “We’re always told how pretty we look.” “People don’t know who’s who.”

Rosey added, “We’re very alike, it’s creepy.”

The sisters also love to travel together – most recently on a cruise to France and Spain together in May 2023 – and are careful to pack the same clothes in their suitcase.

They plan to continue wearing matching outfits for the rest of their lives – but sometimes wear different tops and jeans when not going out.

Kathy said, “We don’t like to wear something twice for an evening outfit.” “We can’t help but buy something new.”
