Riot Games has removed the level 30 cap for the start of Season 8, allowing players to level up infinitely for endless amounts of rewards.
Toucan Celeste tops the charts as the highest level player, currently standing at 1438. The next highest level player is Nolife Fynn at level 1429.
Players can increase their level with a specific League of Legends champion, called a championship, by playing and winning matches with the character. With each mastery level, players receive a new mastery icon that appears on the game loading screen and can be viewed in-game. Mastery levels end at level 7, but players can continue to accumulate mastery points on a champion indefinitely.
Players display their Mastery Score on their profile page, which shows how many champions they’ve mastered. The total points a player can have is the number of champions multiplied by 7, so the current point cap is 994.
With the end of Season 8, Riot Games introduced some ranking changes, including the addition of two new tiers in the ranking. However, the top tier in each competitive region has remained unchanged, meaning the highest rank a League of Legends player can achieve is still rank 1 in the Challenger tier.
