Why Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson’s Australia speaking tour has been postponed – as organizers assure it has NOTHING to do with Prince Harry’s explosive memoir

People across the country will be disappointed to hear Sarah Ferguson’s visit to Australia has been postponed to “later this year”.

The Duchess of York, 63, was planning to visit Melbourne in February to share all about her private life but has canceled the trip “due to a new schedule conflict”.

The Herald Sun reported on Saturday that the silent postponement had nothing to do with Prince Harry’s upset, as it was announced before his memoir Spare made waves online.

“Unfortunately, due to a new schedule conflict beyond the Duchess of York’s control, the shows scheduled for February have been postponed to later in the year, on dates to be announced,” the organizer’s website said.

However, a spokesperson warned that the lecture tour could actually be pushed back to 2024.

Ms Ferguson intended to share intimate, untold details about her life and standing in the public eye – hosted by TV veteran Ray Martin.

At the event, titled “In Conversation with Sarah,” the exiled queen is expected to reveal more about her marriage to ex-husband Prince Andrew and the “dark times” that followed.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Duchess is estimated to rake in more than $250,000 in fees.

Ticket prices range from $99 to $188 at the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane theaters and can accommodate up to 2000 guests.

The publication also says event organizers are “confident” the meeting with Ms Ferguson will sell out.

Promoter Simon Baggs said: “We call this concept intellectual entertainment, the idea that revolves around world famous people on stage sharing things that the audience may not have known or thought of before.

“Sarah is very engaging and entertaining, and we feel a lot of her stories people don’t really know.”

In a statement announcing her tour, the Duchess shared her excitement at visiting the country again.

“I’m so excited to come to Australia to share stories from my life,” she said. “Australia has been my sister’s home for many decades and I see it as a second home.”

Ms Ferguson’s last visit Down Under was in 2016 when she attended a charity fundraiser at St Vincent’s Hospital.
