Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett believes it’s time the government stopped covering up evidence of UFOs.
The Republican official told News Nation over the weekend that the US government is constantly engaged in a “major cover-up” about potential extraterrestrial life, adding that there is evidence of UFOs in the Bible.
Recently, a report submitted to Congress showed a sharp increase in military sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena – the new term for UFO.
Burchett, recently re-elected to his third term, has campaigned to release information about UFOs to the American people.
When asked by presenter Natasha Zouves what he thought of the 171 UFOs that were showing “unusual combat characteristics” and for which there was no explanation, he said he had “believed in phenomena for a long time”.
Citing the King James Bible, Burchett said, “The first chapter of Ezekiel is pretty clearly about a UFO sighting.”
Ezekiel, a book in the Old Testament that describes visions of the prophet Ezekiel, contains in its first chapter a vision of “four living creatures,” each of which was winged and had four faces, “a man, a lion, an ox, and a Eagle.’
Lawmakers stressed that some of the UFO sightings now being recorded showed vehicles capable of maneuvers, such as turning and speed changes, that are beyond the capabilities of any known civilian or military aircraft.
Furthermore, the maneuvers in question would exert lethal forces on all occupants of the vehicles, which would be humans.
“If you were a human and you did the curves that are in some of these shots, you would literally turn into a ketchup bag,” Burchett noted. ‘I mean you’d be gone.’
“We’ve been covering this up since the ’40s. Since Roswell or before that,” he added, before noting that he “doesn’t trust the government” and believes officials should “declassify everything.”
If the federal government has possession of an alien spacecraft, Burchett said it is the American people’s right to know and they “can handle it.”
“I just feel like America is ready. We need to know and stop all the shenanigans,” he concluded.
Rep. Burchett has served in Congress since his 2018 election. He was formerly the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
Burchett said he did not trust the government and encouraged those in power to drop their pretensions and expose the American people to the full reality of potential extraterrestrial life out there

The declassified 2022 Annual Report on Unidentified Airborne Phenomena was presented to Congress last week.
The report shows a proliferation of reports of UFOs by US service members over the years. In 2021, a preliminary report was submitted to the Legislature that included 144 UFO sightings over 17 years.
But now the latest report lists 510 UFO reports from late August last year.
Of the 510 sightings, about 250 were new reports occurring after 2021, and more than 100 occurred during the documented time in the first 17 years but were discovered or reported after the initial report.
Several hundred of the unidentified aircraft were eventually identified as either drones, balloons and clutter, or birds. But 171 of the UFOs have no explanation.
In a standard statement, the US Department of Defense assured Americans that it takes the potential threat posed by UFOs seriously.
“The safety of our service personnel, bases and facilities, and protecting U.S. operational security on land, air, sea and space are of paramount importance. We take reports of intrusions into our designated space, land, sea or airspace seriously and investigate each one,” the institution wrote.
