Will Starfield release in January 2023?

Bethesda’s latest RPG Starfield is one of this year’s most anticipated games, but its release date is still a bit vague.

Although Bethesda’s brand new IP was teased back in 2018, it’s still very close to launch. Described as “Skyrim in space” by director Todd Howard, the upcoming RPG has been at the forefront of players’ minds since its first teaser.

During the Microsoft/Bethesda Showcase during E3 2021, Starfield was announced as exclusive to Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X|S with a release date of November 11, 2022. But in May 2022, Bethesda announced it would be delayed until 2023.

But with 2023 arriving and no definitive release date given, many players will be wondering if we can expect to see Starfield in January 2023.

Both Bethesda and Microsoft are yet to officially announce Starfield’s new release date, but have reiterated that the game will be released in the first half of 2023. A new support page for the upcoming game has come online, confirming that is the case.

Given that reaction, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be releasing Starfield this January, but there’s a good chance players will get some new information about RPGs in the coming months. The first half of 2023 could take us until June/July, so we may not see Starfield in full for a few months.
